S Ridge, Sgurr Mor

Sgurr Mòr is the highest of the seven Munros in the mountain range known as the Fannaichs in northern Scotland and also centrally situated on the ridge extending from the munro .

This range is located between Loch Fannich and the A835 Ullapool road — a remote area with few habitations.

Sgurr Dubh Mor (Munro)

Sgurr Dubh Mor is an impressive peak situated 250m off the main cullin ridge to the southeast of Sgurr Alasdair which rises to a height of 944m (3096 feet).

On the south western flank of Sgurr Dubh Mor lies one of the most magnificent corries in Scotland and is called Coir' a' Ghrunnda. This corrie is also the highest corrie in the Cuillin and the ridge is only a few hundred feet above.

To the south lies the most southern munro on the Cuillin ridge Sgurr nan Eag which can be climbed alongside Sgurr Dubh Mor via a col on the southern flank.

Sgurr Mor (Glen Kingie) (Munro)

Sgurr Mor is a munro in the heart of remote wilderness between Loch Arkaig, Loch Quoich & Loch Nevis rising on the north side of upper Glen Kingie. The mountain is part of the Gairich-Sgurr na Ciche ridge on the southern side of Loch Quoich and is the highest peak above Glen Kingie and has a saddle like appearance from below. Generally it has steep sothern slopes and craggy northern slopes.

Access is usually via a col between the tops An eag and Sgurr Bheag ascending from Glen Kingie starting from the western end of Loch Arkaig.

Sgurr Choinnich Mor (Munro)

Glen Nevis

Sgurr Choinnich Mor lies on the south western edge of The Grey Corries ridge and rises on the north of Glen Nevis's watershed and rising to the east of Ben Nevis.

The summit of Sgurr Choinnich Mor is quite a narrow and rocky ridge which drops steeply on both sides. Stob Coire an Laoigh is an adjoining munro linked via a high col (930 metres) to the north-north-east of Sgurr Choinnich Mor. South west from the summit lies Sgurr Choinnich Mor's smaller top Sgurr Choinnich Beag standing at 963 metres.

Sgor Gaoith - Sgoran Dubh Mor

Sgoran Dubh Mor lies about 1km to the north of the munro Sgor Gaoith . It' has a broad northern ridge which makes on easy descent place. On the eastern flanks of the hill are crags which drop steeply down to the remote Loch Einich.

On the east there are splendid views over to Braeriach and down into Glen Feshie on the west.

Beinn Eighe - Ruadh-stac Mor (Munro)

Ruard-stac Mor

Ruadh Stac Mor is the highest of Beinn Eighe's peaks and sits on the north west spur of the Beinn Eighe mountain range linked via a broad ridge which narrows towards Coinneach Mhor which is the normal ascent route.

Spidean Coire nan Clach to the south-east is linked via twisting elongated from north-north-west to south-south-east.
