Mountain Description for Beinn Bheoil
Beinn Bheoil is a munro in Scotand and is located in the area Loch Linnhe to Loch Ericht as defined by SMC
(and lies in region known as Ben Alder )Beinn Bheoil is located to the west of Loch Ericht, and forms a long ridge running from north to south alongside it's larger western neighbor Ben Alder. Probably Beinn Bheoil's best feature are its eastern slopes that drop directly into the loch which are remarkably steep. It's summit ridge contains evidence in the granite erratics of the thickness of ice that once crossed this area from the Rannoch ice-cap.
Usual access is via the northern ridge from Culra Lodge or from the bealach (Bealach Breabag) on the southern side which also connects to Ben Alder via the southern top Sron Bealach Beithe
If climbed from the north there are splendid views across to the Short & Long Leachas jutting out from the moorland and further south the eastern cliff face of Ben Alder.
