Details for Beinn Ime
Beinn Ìme is the highest mountain in the Arrochar Alps and from the majority of view the peak rises higher than its surrounding neigbours. It is best viewed from the A83 road around Butterbridge which is also an access point to the mountian. The mountain has steep sides on both east & northern sides and has a fine north eastern summit ridge with the summit in the middle marked with a large summit cairn. The southern side of Beinn Ìme has grassy slopes which drop down via a broad south eastern ridge to Bealach a'Mhaim which separates it from Bienn Narnain which is usually climbed on the same days outing.
Access is usually from Succoth where one may follow the same path that is used to reach The Cobbler before taking the right fork near the base of the Cobbler's main crags and continuing up the valley, across the bealach and up Ben Ime's eastern ridge. If climbing with Bienn Narnain you descend to Bealach a'Mhaim and then ascend Beinn Ìme and return via the path from Succoth.
Alternatively, the summit can be reached from the pass of Rest and be Thankful and from the Loch Lomond side, using the private road that leads to Loch Sloy.
