Carn a'Coire Boidheach is a munro in Scotand and is located in the area Glen Shee to Mount Keen as defined by SMC
(and lies in region known as
The Lochnagar Hills )
Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach is the highest munro on the extensive White Mounth plateau and lies in the middle of these hills. It appears as a little more than a mound when on the plateau but just ½km north from the summit is the dramatic 1093m point The Stuic (meaning Projecting Hill) which is a rocky buttress & minor summit. On the northwest there is a ridge that connects to the munro Carn an t-Sagairt Mor & on the north east is a ridge that joins to the Dark Lochnagar also muro status.
Usual access onto Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach is from Glen Callater via Carn an t-Sagairt Mor which is usually climbed in the same outing. The approach is on an old drove road over the Tolmount which eventually leads to Glen Clova. Alternatively you can include Broad Cairn, Cairn Bannoch, Carn an t-Sagairt Mor & Dark Lochnagar from Glen Muick which is a walk of nearly 30km which is a long days outing.
There are fine views down into Glen Muick on the east and The Cairngorms to the north
