Carn an t-Sagairt Mor lies on the west side of a high plateau which is near the north-west corner of the Mounth plateau overlooking the head of Loch Callater. This peak is the most westerly of the The Lochnagar Hills and is in the centre of the 5 peaks.
Carn an t-Sagairt Mor is a big rounded hill with many boulders and a rising flat top. On the west side of Carn an t-Sagairt Mor there are moderate to steep slopes dropping to Loch Callater. To the south east of the summit lies a broad moorland plateau leading to Cairn Bannoch which is usually climbed with Carn an t-Sagairt Mor.
Usual access is v Glen Callater, starting from the A93 road in Glen Clunie at Auchallater farm.
Look out for the remains of a Canberra aircraft which crashed near the summit in 1956. There are fine views of Glen Callater to the west and Ballochbuie Forest and The Cairngorms to the north.
