Details for Liathach - Spidean a' Choire Leith
Spidean a' Choire Leith lies at the east of Liathach's main ridge and is the biggest munro in the area standing at a height of 1055 metres (3,461 feet). Much of the ridge connecting to Liathach - Mullach an Rathain 7km to the west is narrow, and almost half of it is taken up by a succession of shattered pinnacles over Am Fasarinen.
By any standards Liathach is one of Scotland's finest mountains and is a dramatic ridge containing 6 peaks, it forms a great sandstone fortress dominating the lower reaches of Glen Torridon.
Spidean a' Choire Leith is a rocky peak and can only be accessed via the ascent route due to it's steep sides and gullys on both the north & south, so once on the ridge there are no escape points until at the western end of Liathach.
