Details for Meall Chuaich
Meall Chuaich is located north east of Dalwhinnie, lying on the northern end of the plateau, and is a prominent landmark of the area. The hill stands isolated from the main plateau of the area and appears as a domed topped hill with no distinguishing features. Meall Chuaich slopes are generally moderate but there are some steeper eastern slopes from the summit and the north western slopes are generally steeper.
Access is usually from the A9 north of Dalwhinnie just south of Cuaich and upto Loch Cuaich where the western nose of the munro can be climbed. Another approach is via Bhran Cottage in Glen Tromie following a tree lined Allt na Fearna.
Meall Chuaich's summit gives excellent views to the north of the Cairngorms & southwest to Loch Ericht to the Ben Alder hills.
