Mountain Description
Meall Ghaordaidh is an munro in Scotand and is located in the area Loch Tay to Loch Rannoch as defined by SMC
(and lies in region known as Glen Lochay )
Meall Ghaordaidh is a large hill which rises between Glen Lochay and Glen Lyon about 9 kilometres north-west of Killin. The summit is marked with a large cairn enclosure which offers good protection.
From Glen Lochay Meall Ghaordaidh appears as a domed featureless hill isolated from any other hills which it is why it's usually climbed alone.
Access is usually via Glen Lochay to the west of "Allt Dhuin Croisg" passing through fields pasing some old sheildings, from there climb north-west grassy slopes onto the summit. Alternatively, it can be climbed from Stronuich in Glen Lyon although few parties do.
