Bothy / Mountain Hut
'Clashgour hut was originally built c.1900 but had to be rebuilt in 1919 following a fire. Its construction is of the Meccano type kit, typical of temporary structures of the period. Until 1933 it was used as a four pupil primary school, but this ended with the opening of the new road to Glencoe.

Mountain Rescue
Assynt Mountain Rescue Team is fully equipped & trained for any situation. The primary role being the provision of search and rescue in mountainous, or inhospitable terrain in North & NW Scotland, for any person who may be injured, or otherwise in need of assistance.
We cover the area between Loch Maree in the north and Loch Carron in the south, and from Applecross in the West to Achnasheen in the East. This includes some of the most spectacular mountains in Scotland - with Liathach, Beinn Eighe and Beinn Alligin being especially popular.
Lomond is one of the busiest Mountain Rescue Teams in Scotland. The Team covers an area of over 1000 square miles in one of the most popular mountain areas of Scotland. The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park sees over two million visitors a year.
LMRT was set up in the late 1960’s by local climbers to help fellow climbers in difficulties on the mountains of Lochaber and especially on Ben Nevis. It was and still is today entirely made up of unpaid volunteers.approximately 40 men and women of various ages from early 20’s to early 60’s.
We are a voluntary organisation with a written constitution and run by a committee elected from amongst our members. We have a typical membership of about 25 volunteers who live around the team area and have demonstrated the necessary skills and commitment.
The Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) has 43 team members. These team members are unpaid volunteers who give up their time and skills going to the aid of any one in trouble on the hills.

Braemar Mountain Rescue Team is run from two bases in the Cairngorm National Park. The team headquarters is in Braemar and we also have a subsidiary base in Ballater.
The AMRT is a voluntary charitable organisation with aims to assist in Search & Rescue throughout the Strathclyde area of Scotland.
In Scotland, Mountain Rescue is the responsibility of the regional Police Authority. AMRT has 24 volunteer team members who are available 365 days of the year when requested by Strathclyde Police.
Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team comprises of men & woman from a variety of backgrounds and employment but we all pride ourselves with the team's professionalism and a thread is shared between all..............the simple desire to assist with someone in distress on the hill.
AMRT is one of the 23 civilian Mountain Rescue Teams in Scotland and is affiliated to the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland.

The Ben Lawers Historic Landscape Project was a mutli-disciplinary research project based on the north side of Loch Tay in the Central Highlands of Scotland. Managed by Glasgow University Archaeological Research Division (GUARD) on behalf of The National Trust for Scotland it ran from 1996 to 2005. Archaeological surveys and excavations formed the core of the Ben Lawers Project, but many other disciplines also contributed to researching this landscape.
