The Fannaichs form a long chain of peaks around the north of Loch Fannaich which are also pretty compact. For hillwalkers the accessible corries & long ridges contrast with Loch Maree Loch Broom [1] area making longer expeditions possible.
The long smooth ridges that link the Fannaich summits give excellent walking and are ideally suited to long traverses apart from the isolated Fionn Bheinn [2] to the south. It's possible to climb the nine northern munros [3] in a single long days outing.
It's no longer possible to drive along the private rood from Grundie Bridge to Fannich Lodge also the approach [4] from this side is longer and less popular. The majority of people choose to climb the area from the north where there is easier access.
