Braemar give access to the remote munros of The Cairngorms and includes the second highest peak in Scotland Ben Macdui. On the plateau of these hills extreme winds can come at any time of the year and in bad visibility navigation can be very difficult.

All routes from here are a serious challenge in all weather, with nearly all the summits being very remote and involving long outings. It's essential for excellent fitness, and navigations skills if attempting any of these mountains.
