Details for: Five Sisters of Kintail

The mighty range of The Five Sisters of Kintail dominates the head of Loch Duich & it's well defined tops can be easily recognised from many of the neighbours to the west. The peaks are connected by a fairly narrow ridge on the north and west sides of Glen Shiel, at their western end rising 1000m from the valley floor in one continuous climb. It's finest elevation is around the crest of Mam Rattachan from where there is an excellent view of Loch Duich.

The complete traverse of this range is a considerable undertaking even with transport to Glen Shiel to the point below "Bealach an Lapain" where one usually starts the walk. Walkers usually split this in to a couple of outings tackling the western end & eastern end separately.
