From A86 road from Laggen just before Newtonmore. There is parking at NN691998 the end of the road.

Train: Perth - Inverness stopping at Newtonmore (daily) Bus: Perth = Inverness daily stop Aviemore, Fort William - Inverness. A Car is really needed for these hills

The Monadh Liath occupies a very large area of the central Highlands however there are only a few munros around here and is pretty much featureless. These hills are a very quite part of Scotland and are less frequented than the more popular hills to the east (The Cairngorms) The region is usually completed in a couple of outings with Geal Charn (Monadh Liath) one one short outing and the others one quite a long days outing (
