    Beautiful day, at the start... after summit, lunch and pics the cloud fell on us! Rotten, dreich pouring day all the way down.. ah well Scotland in summer!

These hills which are situated in the southern Cairngorms are extremely popular and all 5 of the munros can be completed in a single long days outing which most people try to do, as once your up on the plateau most of the hard work has been done.
The Lochnagar Hills is of characterised by a vast high plateau with the main highlight of the area being the northern corries of Lochnagar with their 300m high cliffs.

Most of Lochnager sometimes known as Dark Lochnager belongs to Balmoral Estate (bil'more-il) and there is some fine woodland at lower levels.

The car park at the Spittal of Glenmuick can be full in the summer months (small charge)
