Stuchd an Lochain is a route in “The Glen Lyon” region / range which is located in the Loch Tay to Loch Rannoch area of the Scottish Highlands as defined by the Scottish Mountaineering Club.

On this route you return by same way

Four km west of the Bridge of Balgie in Glen Lyon a small road lead up to the dam on the east side of Loch an Daimh from where Stuchd an Lochain can be climbed easily as the dam is at a height of 430 metres.

There just doesn't seem to be any climbing for this munro or Meall Buidhe which can be climbed on the same day whilst in the area as the road takes you over 400 metres high.

The top of Creag an Fheadain is a fine spot for views east down Glen Lyon and to the Ben Lawers ridge, eight miles away as the crow flies.

Distance: 9km / 5 miles
Ascent: 600m / 1969 feet
Time: 3 hours plus

There is 1 munro on this route

The only possibility of a route finding error is to miss the descent path from the ridge to the dam, but even this has a small cairn to mark the spot.
